GRG welcomes ‘Project St Peter Port’

The Guernsey Retail Group warmly welcomes the launch of Project St Peter Port and commends the St Peter Port authorities for taking proactive steps to improve the appearance and public spaces in Town.

This initiative is a reflection of the shared commitment to civic pride and the creation of a cleaner, more vibrant environment – one that holds greater appeal for both Islanders and visitors.

The initial proposals under consideration – including increased bin provision, cleaner streets, additional seating and colourful floral displays – are closely aligned with the feedback received in last year’s Consumer and Retail Survey commissioned by the GRG.

Improving and adapting our Town centre, as well as other key areas such as The Bridge, are central priorities outlined in the GRG’s Manifesto for the Retail Sector, published ahead of this year’s general election. We are encouraged to see tangible progress being made and believe this project can play a significant role in reinvigorating Guernsey’s high street.

We look forward to supporting the authorities in their efforts and continuing to work together to ensure St Peter Port is a clean, welcoming and attractive destination for shoppers, residents and visitors alike.
