We have launched a Manifesto for candidates standing in the election to bring bold, innovative thinking to support and grow our industry.
The Manifesto has been based upon information provided by retailers in our various member surveys last year, and data from the 2024 Consumer and Retail Survey.
We have intentionally focussed the document on some key “asks” that will broadly benefit the sector, and only featured items that we believe are achievable.
In it, several key priorities are outlined that we want the new States to adopt, including:
Strategic and collaborative approach to maintaining and enhancing the variety of retail outlets
Create a level playing field for competing against off-island businesses
Enable every Islander and business to make local purchases their first choice.
