We continue to work with the States of Guernsey to build our understanding of the plan to introduce GST. Based on the feedback received from retailers, we continue to make representations to States Deputies about the likely effects to the retail industry, and to the town centre.

The consequences of introducing such a tax are likely to extend far beyond retail, affecting the wider local economy and the local community.

A new retail survey is being prepared to collect further feedback on GST, as well as other indicators relevant to our sector.

This will be sent in April month – retailers are asked keep an eye on their inbox and let us have your opinions so we can accurately reflect these in our discussions with our government.
